How CiteRadar Works

Understand your AI presence in three simple steps. Track your brand, monitor competitors, and discover opportunities.

Add Your Domains

Add your brand and competitor domains with their associated brand names.

Create Queries

Define the questions your customers ask AI assistants.

Track Results

View dashboards showing your visibility scores and competitor rankings.

Step 1

Adding Your Domains

Domains are the foundation of your tracking. Add your own brand and your competitors to compare how often each appears in AI responses.

Your Primary Brand

Mark your own company as the primary brand. This lets CiteRadar calculate your visibility score and compare you against competitors.

  • Highlighted in dashboards with star badge
  • Used to calculate your visibility percentage
  • Shows your ranking vs competitors

Competitor Domains

Track the brands you compete against. See how often they're mentioned and which topics they dominate.

  • Compare citation counts side by side
  • Discover which queries favor them
  • Find gaps in your coverage

Pro Tip

Add multiple brand names per domain. For example, "openai.com" should include both "OpenAI" and "ChatGPT" as brand names to catch all mentions.

Step 2

Creating Queries

Queries are the questions you track across AI models. Think about what your customers might ask when looking for your product or service.

What is a Query?

A query is a prompt that CiteRadar sends to AI models to see which brands they mention. The best queries mirror what your actual customers would ask.

Example queries:

  • "What are the best CRM tools for small businesses?"
  • "Compare Slack vs Microsoft Teams for remote work"
  • "Best project management software for agencies"

Supported AI Models

CiteRadar tests your queries across multiple AI platforms to give you a complete picture of your visibility.

Step 3

Understanding Snapshots

A snapshot captures the AI's response to your query at a specific moment in time. It records which brands were mentioned and in what order.

What's in a Snapshot?

Each snapshot contains the complete AI response analysis, showing exactly which brands appeared and how prominently they were featured.

Brand Mentions

Every brand cited in the response

How Scoring Works

Position matters. Being mentioned first carries more weight than being mentioned last. Our scoring formula reflects this reality.
